SUMMER CAMP 2023

Hello Summer!

We are excited to be offering summer camps at the Gordon School this year! Gordon School camps are open to the public and take place on their beautiful campus at 45 Maxwell Ave, East Providence, RI, about 10 minutes from Barrington. Our camps all run in the morning Monday-Friday for rising 2nd-4th graders, but many other great camps are offered in the afternoon, and lunch is available.

Week of June 26

Gary - Woodshop Whatchamacallits                           Annie - Under the Sea               

Grab some sandpaper and get woodworking! Build your own balance board, games, marionettes. Tools, paints and adhesives used.

Dive down deep for some big ocean art! Mermaid boxes, crazy fish prints & jellyfish! Design fashion for your sea stuffy for a ride on the deep sea water slide!


Week of July 10                     

Gary - Emerging Engineers                                         Annie - Cartooning Art & Design

Test your designs with our roll, float, fly and splat challenges! Will your balloon survive the Water Balloon-Car Challenge? Will your motorboat sink or swim?

 

Villains and superheros wanted! Design original characters and storyboards, & create a puppet of your main character.


Week of July 17

Gary - Electric Fab Lab                                               Annie - Animal Antics

Build a battery, an electro magnetic crane, make a light bulb from a pencil, design battery powered bots and games!

From cave paintings to the rainforest - 3 color animal prints, totems for our tropical cave, and design fashion for your favorite furry friend and hit the animal fashion show runway!


Week of July 24

Gary - Race Car Rally Challenge                               Annie - Paperpalooza

Using cardboard, lights, and recycled parts, we'll build our own racetrack and guide an R/C car through the maze!

Paper - fold it, rip it, print it, paint it, marbleize it with shaving cream and make it in a blender! Use patterned paper, jewels, stickers and photos to make a beautiful summer memory book!


Week of July 31

Gary - Junkyard Band!                                              Annie - Flower Power Garden Art

Design your own instruments using common household objects, recycled materials and serenade your family!

Batiked pillows, natural dyes, plantable paper, flower prints and miniature fairy gardens!
